Playing

Playing with your baby is a vital, it how they learn to move, communicate, socialise, and understand their surroundings.

Spending time face-to-face with your newborn will make them happy, and also help to developed the bond between the two of you that will likely lay the foundation for a healthy relationship in the months and years to come.  In the first weeks of life, newborns can recognise their mother’s voice and will try and respond by looking alert and becoming less active. The baby may try to find out where the sound is coming from by looking around and turning their head.

Let your baby spend some awake time on his or her tummy to help strengthen the neck and shoulders.
